A new project that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology started in 2014 aimed at "Cultivating international global leaders who learn international sophistication such as concerns about social problems, high levels of education, communication skills and imagination in the light of the current rapid growth of globalization allowing students to perform internationally in the future from a high school age."
246 high schools from around the country applied for this project in 2014 and 56 schools were selected. Our school was the only school selected in Miyagi. The status of SGH is valid for five years once selected.

In response to SGH selection, we are going to approach the international research task of "Water problems in the world" by upgrading both International Study (IS) and Science Research (SR) which have been conducted as distinctive educational activities which we have been conducting and move toward cultivating the next generation of global leaders.
International Study is exploring the theme of "global environment" from the point of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Science Research is exploring it from the point of natural science.
We are going to develop Career Study (CS) which is considering the meaning of study and one's future through these educational activities.
